In the section on the '69 Matrix gigs on Olivier's site it quotes from a Quine interview, where he says he taped over his rehearsal tapes

"Then they went to The Matrix for a couple of weeks, and that's where I really got to know them, 'cause in the beginning, they'd start off on a weeknight around 8:30 and sometimes there'd be two or three people in the place. So they got to know me, and we'd get talking. I asked if it was alright if I taped the stuff. They said it was alright. Sometimes I'd sit around at their rehearsals and tape the rehearsals. Ultimately, I taped over the rehearsals. There was nothing really spectacular going on in them. They'd just work out new songs, but it was interesting to see them in rehearsal, to see how they worked together. (...) So I taped all those nights, I think I missed one night. I remember the next day, he said: "Oh you should have been here last night, we played '

What's on the recording you have?

At this link(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXFbCvP ... rt_radio=1)you will find two versions of S.B.B one very valid. Then I have to look in my pc I have a version of I Can't Satand it, hotter than the Matrix tapes and a Some kinda of love I think. In my opinion they are not Quine recordings

thanks!
are these decent quality/ close to the rest of the Quine stuff?

I've got a load of bootlegs on CD-R that i don't listen to, but i think Dispatches came out after I'd done all my trading (with you and others on here) but I do like Sweet Bonnie Brown a lot, would be curious to hear the 5.39 version, unless it's only that long because of false starts etc...

Yes they are of comparable quality. I don't remember much in the way of false starts. Other than Lisa Says, the songs are complete. Worth having imo.
