"Noise" nod in "The Simpsons"?

I rewatched one of the more lasting and significant episodes of The Simpsons recently -- "Homer's Phobia," from 1997, with John Waters (as a dealer of kitsch antiques) representing the entire ethos of gay culture -- and discovered two visual allusions to the VU, one more fleeting and obscure than the other:

This one is pretty straightforward:

I believe this one is an intentional allusion to the Electric Newspaper album, although were it not in the same episode as the Banana album image I might've been prone to dismiss it as a coincidence. Note that the sequence has the Waters character flipping through the Simpsons's own albums collection:

An obscure reference, but yeah! Haven't seen that episode.
i've wracked my brains to remember an underground film from 1966 that also has a parody of the ceremony - thought it might have been one of Waters' own 8mm films, but apparently not. In terms of a record with it on, it would have to be the EVO LP.

Do you all remember as well the reference to Loaded in Buffy the Vampire Slayer?

The East Village Other Electric Newspaper was 1966 and features the radio report of Luci Baines Johnson's wedding of that year. The Lynda Bird Johnson wedding was in 1967. A slightly tangental way of referring to The East Village Other Electric Newspaper album? But I guess it's an explanation.
