The interesting thing about this for me is that for years, people have said that there's a Nico backing vocal in the mix, which I've never been able to hear. But on this isolated version, can anyone else here a brief "la-la-la-la-la" behind Lou when his vocal comes back in after the solo? Tbh the mix is so squishy that it could be just another viola part, but I'd be interested to hear what anyone else thinks...

isn't it fairly audible in the mix? maybe it's louder in mono? Nico's 'la la la-la' backlng vocals on Sunday Morning are not news to me

I've seen speculation that Lou's vocals are sped up slightly on this track, and it kind of sounds that way to me. Has this ever been established?

Ugh. I turned this off after about 15 seconds. Not because his vocals are bad, far from it. Its a beautiful performance. More so because there is something perverse even necrophiliac about pulling apart and dissecting great works of art and making them something they are not, and for the sake of what? Analysis, trying to obtain something new or different simply.because we've used up everything there is out there that the band gave us?

I understand that instinct but also think there's something sick about it.

It would make more sense to me if we were content with what they gave us, which was a whole lot, even if sometimes if doesn't seem like enough (especially from the golden Cale/Factory era).
