This is the first of two Lou Reed shows from the Ecstasy tour that I will be posting that suffers from over saturation of the low end of the recording. Whether it is due to equipment that couldn't handle the barrage of sound or inexperience of the taper is unclear. What we do know is that the taper deserves an A for effort by attempting to capture this concert and we are grateful for his/her time and energy.
The short story is that this is really only something that would interest collectors and perhaps those who attended the show. I doubt that anyone will listen to this more than once if they even make it all the way through. Please don't ask for samples as none are forthcoming. The above disclaimer is sample enough. If you need to ask, then this is not for you. There are a number of excellent captures of shows from this tour that are readily available here on Dime that have been posted by myself and others that document this tour for casual listeners or those who just want to check out some late period Lou Reed.
Thank you to everyone who has been uploading Lou Reed shows in recent weeks. Especially to those who have circulated shows that previously haven't made the rounds. We've been treated to about a dozen such shows in the last two months and there have been some stellar recordings and performances among them. Let's try to keep that trend going and get everything that is tucked away out into the light of day.
