The Paris-based Fondation Cartier wanted to pay homage to Lou Reed, and released this footage of the 1990 VU reunion.

I love it.

Oh wow.

That performance of Heroin moves me in ways that I can't explain.

Also... I had no idea that Moe was playing a Symmons kit!

Thanks for the link Yves, I've not seen that footage before.

I like the comment someone has made - "Violon + avion ? 30:12 = épique!". Cale's viola screeches as a plane descends behind them and is gone in a flash.

Which explains the somewhat dull sound of her drums.. Shows how improvised it all was, using other people's gear for Maureen and Sterling and all... Upon re-reading, I saw the electronic drum kit was also mentioned in the WLWH book. Poor Sterling, cannot help but feel that he was a bit shut out, as Lou and John leant towards Maureen for large parts of the song. But I'm sure the camera angle/zoom didn't help either. Still - I'm very grateful for the video, let that be clear!

Yeah that video is great, fantastic to see it - thanks for posting.
Read what you want of Lou and Sterls body language..

I watched this again yesterday, and there was a lot to enjoy - the haircuts + fashions as well as the music. Heroin made me so happy! I love seeing Moe in her 'respectable' outfit leaning over and hammering those electronic drums, and the growing abandon of the performance, though it was slightly painful seeing Sterl so sidelined and quiet (a bit of projection there probably, but he does look reticent). Worth another look anyway!

the old link is private now but this one is decent quality: https://youtu.be/SpgpmfRKGcc?t=1218

Here's the story about the 1990 reunion from Půlnoc's manager point of view

who made the soundboard recordings and released those on LP in 2017/18.
