the main problem with generating a list of live "Sister Rays" is that it will never be complete. I would guess that the VU played SR during almost every show they did in 1968 and 1969. Lou probably played it to death during the 1972 Tots tour, and sporadically on every tour up to 1983.....

Does anyone know why he stopped playing it?

As all other editions of this compilation, the label reads "THAT's THE STORY OF MY LIFE" as album title, although it doesn't appear on the cover. Tucker is mispelled as "Tucken" in Sister Ray credits.

Thanks! I've seen that record many times (in stores over the years - I don't own it) but didn't realize this is what people were talking about when they describe that particular version as the "swan" mix.
Actually, in comparing a bootlegged version of this with the CD, it does sound different - but I don't think it's a different mix so much as a very different E.Q. of the same tape.
