the main problem with generating a list of live "Sister Rays" is that it will never be complete. I would guess that the VU played SR during almost every show they did in 1968 and 1969. Lou probably played it to death during the 1972 Tots tour, and sporadically on every tour up to 1983.....

for: dsulpy... more regarding the "swan" mix:

MGM Pride Records 2315 246

Side 1: 2315246 1 380 CIDIS
Side 2: 2315 246 2 380 CIDIS

Swan glossy cover, with catalog number printed on top right. Back cover with U price code and "Made and Printed in France" / Imp. C.I.D.I.S. Louviers / Distribution exclusive Polydor S.A.. Blue/gold MGM label.

As all other editions of this compilation, the label reads "THAT's THE STORY OF MY LIFE" as album title, although it doesn't appear on the cover. Tucker is mispelled as "Tucken" in Sister Ray credits.

Side 1: That's The Story Of My Life (2:05) / Sister Ray (17:00) / Lady Godiva's Operation (4:52).
Side 2: Heroin (7:05) / Sunday Morning (2:53) / All Tomorrow's Parties (5:55) / There She Goes Again (2:30) / White Light/White Heat (2:44) / Femme Fatale (2:35).

Thanks! I've seen that record many times (in stores over the years - I don't own it) but didn't realize this is what people were talking about when they describe that particular version as the "swan" mix.
Actually, in comparing a bootlegged version of this with the CD, it does sound different - but I don't think it's a different mix so much as a very different E.Q. of the same tape.

Does anyone know if there's a version of the mono White Light album available anywhere?

Are you looking for the actual, physical artifact, or are you happy with a CD-R? Thanks to our man Simonm, I've got a nice copy of the UK mono on CD-R which I can copy for you.
