re: the April Sounds cd

PS, I just noticed that this item doesn't say factory pressed cd's or artwork. It may be a custom homemade job. Sh-t, I have the lp burned to cd, why don't I create my own April Sounds if that is the case? Cause I hate to buy homemade crap and don't want to sell it either.

Regarding the inclusion of "The Ostrich" in this set I noticed that no-one has mentioned the fact that there are two totally different pressings of the 45. This matrix version, as noted in the track description posted, has a muchfuller & more pronounced bass sound. Viewed side by the side, the two different pressings are noticably different. So perhaps this explains it's inclusion in this set. Hearing will be believing, I suppose...

Where does this info come from? I haven't heard this mentioned before, I doubt it sold well enough to go to a 2nd pressing, and if it had, it wouldn't be so rare. Smells like bootlegger bullshit to me. Many years ago I searched high and low for an original copy of this single, before giving up totally.

I've noticed the wording of the blurb for boots is always very carefully chosen, with half-truths and disinformation mixed with fact, but few outright lies. Another example of this muddying of info is the dating of the tracks from "11 Nov 69" on CD3 - we know they didn't play on that date thanks to Olivier's gig lists (http://members.aol.com/olandem2/perf69.html) so these could be from any 69 show.

I'm v happy to have at least some of the Gym tape to listen to in 2008, but I don't think bootleggers are in it for love.

bobbldr says he knows who's putting it out - why so coy with this info?

I am not being coy about anything. I am not certain, it is merely an educated guess, so do not want to "out" anyone. Come on, think about it, I am sure that you can draw your conclusions if you really think about it.
