this was always an odd little item - I've never seen it on ebay before so I'm surprised it didn't sell. My copy is #116.

I know someone who tried to get Lou to sign a copy of this. Not only would Lou not sign it, he confiscated it and said it was in breach of copyright....

Yeah, its a total bootleg publication that just cut and pastes lyrics and pics from different sources. The Stimula Books also did
a bootleg Patti Smith chapbook called "Tongue of Love", around the same time as this.

well for sure a "bookleg" but quite well put together I think. Nice textured paper (if a bit light), and the 4 poems (The Man, Dirt, Street Hassling and The Slide) had only been published in obscure US publications (if at all) at that time. Didn't he win an award for "The Slide"? It can't be easy to win an award for a poem that has the word c*nt in the 2nd line. Go Lou!

The pictures are pretty weird though...

I seem to remember that Lou was occasionally talking about his own book of poetry in the mid 1970s... also to be called "All The Pretty People". Anyone else remember that?

$1500 + $300 postage. Yikes.
any sounds that we feel would detract from the performance has been left in place

I guess there's a lot of value added for the fact that Nico is smiling 8-)

No shit. And it doesn't list who the photographer is and its a new digital print. No fucking way.

Too rich for my blood as well, but one can't deny it's a magnificent photo. I know of no other, for instance, that depicts exclusively the five Banana-album members + Warhol; and I love how it's got Warhol up front, as if he were the group leader.

And what's that around Andy's midsection (just below "Andy's chest", as it were)? It's hard to tell from the version we're given, but upon enlargement (and some contrast-play, while I'm at it) it's revealed as the hands of Lou Reed, clasped around the waist of his friend and mentor.

Image

Note also that Nico's Mona Lisa smile is aimed at someone off-frame, as her eyes are shifted rightward, away from the camera, her mentor and her bandmates.
And it doesn't list who the photographer is.
On impulse (as opposed to studied consideration), it strikes me as in the style of Nat Finkelstein.

Moe looks like shes licking her lips - maybe some hamburgers being fried up in an impromptu crazy Factory BBQ or the drum mallet rep has popped round with some extra large 'beaters' for her to try...

Great pic..
