I still cant tell for sure if they are cut from the masters or if they are a high res digital transfer
Thanks for the link. All that talk about the re-mastering makes my previously reluctant mouse finger start to itch.
$99.98 + $54.40 P&P = $154.38.
That's ?97.07 to the UK. And then add Import Duty and VAT.
Anyone got any ideas where to get it cheaper for UK residents?

Ordering from amazon US would make sense for UK buyers. Even the 2-4 day fast shipping is half of the Sundazed fee. And you pay VAT on the total value of the item including postage. An extra consideration is that Amazon now take an Import Duties deposit. They pay the duty for you. That both avoids the UK Post Office typically taking two weeks to process the Duty/VAT and charging you for the (slow) service. At least you know where you are.

Order from Sundazed if in the us. Otherwise, I'd say go with amazon. Even to Canada, the shipping is $35, not to mention the duty and gst. I pre-ordered from amazon.ca, right now it's $120 with free shipping. The price could drop between now and the end of October though.

I would much rather these companies (both Sungazed and Universal) put their resources and enegeries into unearthing more live VU recordings, preferrably of the Cale-ea lineup. We all know they are out there, either in the vaults of club owners or in Cale or Reed's archives. Heck, we already know Cale has more '67 Gymaniusm shows on tape. THOSE I want to hear, not the same batch of recordings we already own, with a only a different cover and set of liner notes.
You dig?
I'm with you on this. To state the blindingly obvious - I've got these albums already. Several times. They are great great records - some of the best music ever made - but I don't want to buy them again, thanks.
Other minus points - imho -
1. The 1969 sleeve is poorly designed
2. Sundazed pressings are not always great (I believe they use 2 pressing facilities - 1 is pretty good and the other ... umm... isn't).
Like Norton - another great company - they seem to specialize in off-centre, noisy pressings.
If the Japanese had done this then I might be tempted. You can't compare the way the Japanese do this sort of thing with any other country IMO.
3. No unreleased material as far as I can see (I'm willing to be corrected).
Its a cash cow and I don't blame any business for milking it / however - I'm gonna draw a line on this one.

I think it could be the best option for people that can't afford clean originals of some of the mono pressings. Could being the keyword. I have heard that Sundazed has improved their quality control recently but who knows. I have had the same problems as all of you.

Just to echo the last few posts, I am also going to wait a while on this one. I want to know how the pressings sound.
