At that price, you also know it is going to a huge fan of either Warhol or the VU...or simply Art History. I hope you aren't selling it because you HAVE to, but if that's the case then be happy it went to someone who will truly appreciate it.
You hit the nail on the head. I HAD to. I have to make some other pretty tough decisions too. But, I'm gonna be 56, my son really doesn't have my same passion for the Velvets; I've been collecting for over 40 years, and do I
really need 145 different copies of the banana album? At least this way, I can sell piece by piece, don't have to sell if I don't get the price I want and I can still enjoy what I haven't sold yet. I am worried that if something happens to me, lots of my stuff could be scrapped. God forbid.
Oh man, I understand completely,, I am a year behind you, got into some tough economic times and sold what I had that was not "essential", I still have everything on FLAC files, and digital pics of the artwork, so the peices still are with you. And again, my sons are not into the VU, if something happened, my collection would have ended up at "Round Again Records" across town... so cashing in is what I did (even the umpteen sealed copies of the 1968 boot that I bought for less than $7 each when they came out)... I applaud your good fortune, and rest assured, that will wind up in the hands of a FAN.

Well, guess what? I got screwed! The guy wants to return the book because he claims that when I said original bag, he assumed it was some Publishers bag with purple writing on it! He could see the photos clearly and didn't even bother to ask me any questions. Of course he contacted me and I refused and then offered him $100 for good will. He refused and filed a dispute. I've never had this trouble ever before. the guys feedback is fine and he buys books all the time. He even bought an Emily post book for $2,500.00! I did some research and it seems that eBay decides in the buyers favor about 90% of the time, plus, if I file a refusal and ask them to decide, if they don't find in my favor, I won't get my almost $100 listing/FV fees back. (I spent the money on bills so when Paypal froze the funds, I had to borrow funds from a credit card to cover the shortage!

) They blackmail you into settling the dispute. I hope that it comes back in the same condition that I sent it out in. I will relist, but who says it will sell for $1K again plus it will cost me to list again. It really left a bad taste in my mouth. Ebay says they value sellers but your refund policies, details, photos, it's all moot if some dogturd decides to screw you. (I now understand why some people refuse to accept PayPal.) I really hated to sell my treasures and now I'm even sadder. I was going to try to list my Aspen Box next but now, I don't know. Should I pick up a copy of Goldmine like the old days?
