Thanks for that, Roman Totale.

On another note, this isn't from Concertgebouw, but is th3 cleanest version of a song played there.

Willie Alexander performing Pretty Tree Climber in 2014. Obviously his voice has aged, and he's added a sax, but the rest of the song is pretty much the same. Enjoy.

If this is all we ever get, at least the audience recording can patch up the gaps.

Have you emailed the station yet btw?

VPRO just answered:

"Dear Jonathan Thompson,

Thank you for your question to the Dutch Institute of Sound and Vision.

The recording you refer to still exists and is part of our collection of broadcasts. It can be found as a radio program in our online archive (https://zoeken.beeldengeluid.nl/program ... 0128552831).

However, the rights for music performances and especially concert registrations do not (only) lie with the broadcasting organisation.
At the time they would have had a license to air it (once or several times), but not to distribute or re-use it in any way.
Anytime they want to use it again, they will have to get a new license.

Therefor they cannot grant permission for copies for private use.
Very sorry to disappoint you. Maybe you can find it another way (Discogs?).

Kind regards"

Well, that raises more questions than it answers! They've clearly had the rights to rebroadcast it - as they did with a few tracks a few years ago. And also they made a copy for a user here too, didn't they?

I wonder what agreement they'd need to be able to make a copy? I'm sure I could ask Willie to write an email requesting a copy. Would that be enough permission? Does it require Doug? Atlantic? Sesnick??
