I made a phone call to someone and it's not even known about in the UMG London offices. And, naturally, they have a database of all up and coming releases. I will get told when there's news.

The article seems to say that there are still many things unprecedented of the Cale era. Is a real news ?

I'm not sure they say anything about the Cale era there. He writes 'And not just a little, but a lot of primo vintage VU white light, white heat recorded in high fidelity' - which surely just refers to the upcoming Matrix material?
I wish there was.

But, to be honest, the way he writes '
vintage VU white light, white heat' is a bit misleading.

I'm very skeptical about the dates listed on both The Quine Tapes and the new Matrix Tapes set. No offense to the compilers of either set, but the circumstances of their recording (not complete shows, but personal favorite performances) wouldn't seem to necessaarily lend themselves to accurate record keeping. Unless one (or both) of them was completely anal retentive about that sort of thing.
As it stands, the Quine and Matrix dates don't match up, on those instances where they share a performance ("Sister Ray" stands out here).

And then of course there is the 'uncirculated tape' referenced on Olivier's site which, if it captures the same performance of Sister Ray, rather supports Quine's date. The stars must have been in alignment for that performance if it was captured by 3 separate people.

The 'dangerousminds' link above says that the original tapes had been sold to an Italian collector by the sound engineer - this is the first I'd heard of this - is it true? Pretty curious to know.
