ATP promo with stained label, no other details about quality; currently at $248.49! makes no sense at all?
Likely being "chandeliered" or, has a shill bidder...

Perhaps both bidders are trying to put a good spin on it, and thinking of it as a very rare half-white and half-blue label promo copy.

Wow. This seller just sold a bunch of VU bootleg cd's and they all sold from $40 to some over $200! That is a good sign to me since I'm needing to start selling off some of my collection. Of course, it could have been one guy and if I sell too soon, I could bottom out. Who knows?

You don't see this '69 beauty very often, shame about the odd writing on the label.
'How Dose It Feel To Be Loved' - a dose of something taken before the scrawling no doubt

I could never justify buying a CD of material I already own for those amounts of money! A vinyl LP, sure...but not a CD:

At those prices I would not have bought them either but now they're worth over 5 times what they were new. My god. I'm sitting on a mini-goldmine.

Don't count on it. I've seen most of these sell much cheaper lately. You never know. Ps I wish it was easier to post images to this forum. I wouldn't need to put up a link and the image would not disappear after time.

For sure, I wouldn't count on it and its as much a figure of speech and expression of disbelief as anything ? as I don't sell my stuff and don't buy as a hedge fund investment either. And as you say eBay can be a fickle market. One minute a rare CD is out of reach at ?50 and then you swipe a copy for ?20 because either no one was looking or the bottom has fallen out of the market. But I think that VU product is beyond the point where it's ever going to really drop and even (previously cheap) crappy bootleg CDs are becoming scarce as FLAC availability becomes more prevalent and the CD boot market dies. Of course bargains can still be had by the seasoned sharpshooter.

for a VG++/NM grading that copy sounds very noisy to me.

I have to admit I've never actually played my copy - maybe they're all just poor pressings. I'll give mine a spin tonight and see how it compares.

It'll be interesting to see how much it goes for....BTW I've always wondered just how many of these were pressed. 200 - 300 perhaps? Just a guess.

Praise Ye The Lord vinyl didn't even get a bid at $26.99, but.....

http://cgi.ebay.com/VELVET-UNDERGROUND- ... 33664c69fa

This one has a starting bid at $42.29 USD (30.00 euros) so far???

It's a CRAPSHOOT for sure! :)

Does anybody know for sure if you list an item "ships worldwide" it shows on all countries eBay? It used to work that way. I noticed that last time I listed, it cost more for, to say, put an item on eBay UK also. I assume that everybody does like I do; when I search VU items, I use advanced search and click worldwide. that way I don't have to search eBay USA, then eBay France, then ...and so on. That could explain why some items that are listed on eBay USA, may never be seen by someone searching eBay UK, for example. just saying.....?
