Here's the original LOSSLESS files for the All Tomorrows Parties bootleg a.k.a. At the Warhol Museum
http://www.hungercity.org/details.php?id=1471
supposedly, these files were turned into mp3's and then this lossy source ended up on the bootlegs
cheers,

The sound quality of this is A. I love this show, it's one of the best show from this era.
Sound is clear and good, i think it's a very good audience recording with Lou on top form.
A version of this show exists with some "jumps" and "glitch" on several tracks, but not on this one.
Artwork is included.

If you like the commercially released "American Poet," you will LOVE this.
I was extremely disappointed in the sloppy mastering of the American Poet disc. I have a copy of the Sweet Jane bootleg of the same show, put out by the Oil Well label (#015), and it seems that the Oil Well disc is actually quite a bit better.
It seems to me, almost completely ignorant of the recording/remastering process, that for the American Poet disc they took a quieter mix of the show (possibly a later generation analog recording than Sweet Jane) and boosted the sound. The result is a very "noisy" show, muddying up the soundscape. Very grainy.
The Oil Well recording is surprisingly crisp with very little tape hiss. There seems to be a little bit of sound distortion here and there, possibly from the tape deck fluttering during the transfer (check about 5 seconds into WL/WH and 2:40 into Waiting For The Man), but other than that, I'd say the recording is superb.
The cover-art lists the Steve Hunter/Dick Wagner lineup, but that is incorrect. This is the Tots all the way.

Afraid I've been stuck on 5% on this one since before the weekend... any chance of a reseed?

There is a better version of this show than the Sweet Jane bootleg. The American Poet limited edition box set has a remastered version, different to the original American Poet release. Having compared the two Sweet Jane is nowhere near the quality of the American Poet limited edition, which is superb.
The Rock and Roll Animal Webpage has this description of it:
American Poet - Special Edition (Remastered + 2 Bonus tracks)
Alchemy Entertaiment, Pilot 194, UK, 2003
1. White Light / White Heat / 2. Vicious / 3. Waiting For The Man / 4. Walk And Talk It / 5. Sweet Jane / 6. Interview / 7. Heroin / 8. Satellite Of Love / 9. Walk On The Wild Side / 10. I'm So Free / 11. Berlin / 12. Rock And Roll ... Bonus tracks: 13. New Age* / 14. Rock And Roll*
Recorded live at the Ultrasonic Recording Studio, Hempstead, New York, December 26, 1972
Recorded live at King Cross Cinema, July 15th 1972
All titles composed by Lou Reed
Notes.- This is the remastered version of the American Poet. The sound is quite improved and this is the definitive version of this concert. The sound is really clrear and perfect. The bonus tracks are from the same source that the ones included as bonus tracks in the Bataclan (Colosseum 97-C-023) bootleg CD, and I would say that Alchemy took this songs staright from the Colosseum CD. They claim that the artwork is "new", but they just put the back cover in front and the front cover on the back... how can you call this a "New Artwork" men?

Hope this is not too cheeky to ask...

...but could we have some more reunion shows on DaD ? We've had nearly all the 'in cirulation' shows bar Milan & Amsterdam so seeing those would be nice.
Oh and (this is a long shot) if somehow Napoli shows up...that would be great!

Could you upload a track from the AP remaster so I can compare? There is no possible way they could "remaster" AP and come out w/ a superior product. What is most likely is that they found a different source.
