Trainhead and Maggie, which mightbe the same person, claim that they have the DAT sine 10 years.
They haven't shared it all the time, what makes anyone think, they'll share it now?

Oh, my gosh, do THEY sound good. Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE these recordings (especially the first ever Sister Ray - WOW!- I just go nuts over the heavy bass riffs in it), but I said it earlier in this thread, and I'll say it again...

FREE THE MATRIX TAPES!!!

I fell in love at first heard with The Matrix Tapes. I mean, really. That's the CLEANEST, PRISTINE sound of Velvets live I've ever heard. I use to play them a lot, specially WFTM and Sister Ray. They downright are my next holy grial. I hope with all my faith Polydor/Universal (whatever the label) don't miss this one.

Guys, I hate to tell you, but it is likely that this "Maggie" and "Trainhead" are not only the same person, but is also very likely full of crap. These tapes finally see the light of day, and all of a sudden there are TWO people claiming to have the entire recording on DAT, and naturally are unwilling to share it.

I can't stand people who CLAIM to have something you want and then refuse to share it. Then why the hell tell us in the first place?! I'll tell you why...because they are being an asshole.

Hopefully, I'll be proved wrong, but until then, my bullshit-o-meter is going off the dial.

MG, I agree totally with you. There are three types of trader's... first are those who love to share the music and get genuinely excited by new discoveries. Second, there are the bullshitters who claim to have things that they don't and just enjoy being boastful. Third are those with the "he who dies with the most uncirculated tapes wins" mentality who feel that they belong to some kind of exclusive club. Only time will tell into which category "Trainhead" and "Maggie" fall into, but I have a feeling what that will be.

I'd be inclined to agree, except that maggie/tranehead has implied that they might be willing to share the tapes now they're out. It figures - there's a good reason not to circulate a recording you've been given in confidence for as long as no one else has done so either, but now it's suddenly all over the internet what do they have to lose?

Besides which, we know from the little snippets of Sister Ray that have leaked out over the years that the full tape HAS been out there in a very limited sense.

I waited for my green vinyl copy to come before listening to this. Just got it today and I am listening now. I am on RUN RUN RUN. I am in heaven , but you all already know how I feel. wow! thank god and all responsable for this!

My record has "GYM 001 A2" scratched in on one side and "GYM 001 B2" scratched in on the other side. Does everyone's have this? Do you know what it means? Could there possibly be another record to this set that will come out that has "GYM 001 A1" & "GYM 001 B1" that could have walk and talk it? God , I hope there is more. :D
