I heard a cover of Venus in Furs in a hotel lobby today (It may have been the milosc version.) I recognized the beat first and then listened more closely. Didn't like it much. The singer had a tinny little voice and I thought it sucked. play the original!

Love to hear VU/Lou covers in different languages. I recently got a couple:
Chekannya by the Ukranians (Venus In Furs tune)
Femme Fatale by Orli Zilberschatz Banay (in Hebrew)
Afterhours can't remember the name of the group (in Swedish)[/color]
Aren't there any sang in Czech, Polish, Danish, German, Hungarian etc ?

Should be Nina Hagen ("Sonntag Morgen").

I have at least 4 C90s worth of VU covers from the 70s and 80s. There was also a 90 min tape of covers by Australian bands which was compiled by the Oz branch of the VUAS (hello Dom - still out there?) - this was about 1989 or so.

Just out -- a rerelease of the Tom Robinson Band "Power in the Darkness" with bonus tracks that include a live cover of Waiting For The Man. Brings back memories, I've still got the original vinyl with the raised fist stencil that says "Not to be sprayed on public property!"

David Bowie covered the VU excessively.
THE FEELIES MAN! How have they not been mentioned? They did Run Run Run/European Son/What Goes On as a medley, and also did WL/WH and Waiting for the Man along with covering numerous other acts.
