I got my copy today from Rough Trade UK. Very in-depth and thoroughly researched article. Kudos to Phil.

I agree! And I guess I didn't read Phil Milstien's article when the previous issue arrived! I read both yesterday. Man only Phil could get us the legacy of the "Michael Leigh's".....fascinating!!!!

Got my copy of #56 today. In addition to the Jonathan Richamn article, it also includes an interview with Alfredo (by P. Milstein) and reviews of the book projects he's worked on.

There's a Dec. 1967 photo of the VU with DJ Al Gates I have not seen.

Interesting note by Richman of how Lou once put his guitar output through two different amps so he could play in stereo. This was a gig in mid-68 when Cale was sick.
