Has anyone else noticed the note on the back cover?

' Thanks to G G for the tape'.

I read that as GG == Horse == Horse Face == Cale.

the bit at the end sounds like something left on an older recording - no idea if it has anything to do with vu but thought i should leave it on.

It's a few backwards notes of something. Doesn't sound like Gymnasium at all, so it's probably a remnant of whatever was on the tape (or a tape the tape was duped onto).

By the way, I must confess, I have NO idea what "G.G." = "horse face" = "John Cale" could possibly mean.

Fisrt of all a BIG THANK YOU to upsetter & ferges for getting this available to us that quick. I did not have my copy delivered to me friday so best chance would be monday ... whole weekend in "black".

I will never forget feb 22nd 08 as they day all this happened.
Sister Ray: guitars are damn great a swell as lirycs. They are different in some parts than the once we knew. The "who is that knoking-knoking at my chamber door, could it be the police ...." part is not there. I have listening two times the song and would say that Cale organ is only noticiable at the end (-12min). This last 5-6 min are familar to me sounding similar to the jam improvisation from the Dom (aka "Chick Mystique")

I like a lot the new toy (I´m not a Young man anymore) Great bass all around.
Run, Run, Run is a killer.
Need more time with Waiting.
It´s clear that the place was almost empty. The in-between songs is pure desolation. If not aware that this was from a performance at the Gymnasium I would say that this was a reharsal.
I´m sure that we will get more soon (hope not need to wait another 27 years).
Thanks John ... anyway

I think this too.

What a night dont know how many times i listen the hole thing.
I´m not a Young man anymore is so cool dont understand why they stoped playing this song.

Is it just me or is the sound quality of Guess I'm Falling in Love a little bit better than the other songs?
Or my ears are just trained with this song.

The back of the LP says "thanks to G G for the tape". I wondered who G G might be and then realised that as a child we always called horses GGs. Cale was apparently nick-named 'Horse-face' in those days, so could G G be a thinly veiled reference to Cale?

There's other noticiable point that make me think about isn't a performing at all, don't you miss any Nico's song.Andy and Paul wanted to trasladate the E.P.I show/happening (or create a sort of EPI.clon)to this place cause they'd lost the DOM.

Think this is some remarkable point,What you think about this people?

Well, it looks like I missed out on all the fun last night. We were out on a pre-scheduled dinner date with a few friends but I knew that something would blow after I left. Lol.

Anyway, thanks to Ferges for uploading these. Just finished dowloading all 5 tracks this AM. I'm listening to the end of SR now. This is the best ever version of this song (aside from the LP version, natch). In fact, so good I'll hop on again to experiece the ride once more.

Will post more on how I feel about the rest. This has been a historic 24 hours. Another missing piece - the band live in 67 - has been found! What more can I say?

I felt so excited last night I couldn't listen to it clearly
I'm listening to the whole set right now (sister ray has just started) and do think it's amazing
But it's a rehearsal or what?! a soundcheck? is it John introducing "waiting for the man"?
I wouldn't believe it as a gig before I heard his introduction. Was it recorded directly from the sound desk?
Anyway, where is the audience? To the bar?
How frustrated did they (the VU) have feel...and great is our pleasure 41 years later
Can't wait to the whole set
