I really really wouldn't rate these as B or C, They are A+

That's not what I mean. I don't mean B or C or A+. I know myself, that the quality of the Quine Tapes is not the same as from the sample.

What I mean is that it's the same Sister Ray.

What happened.: Mercury, the record company released "Live with Lou Reed" in the year 1974. In 1984? (don't know the exact date) they released it the first time on CD with two more tracks than on LP (Heroin & I Can't stand it). Other tracks like - Sister Ray, WGO, I'm Set Free, Afterhours... - were never released on an official recording. They were released on the 1992 produced Bootleg "Live at End Cole Ave, Dallas, October 1969 - label: Aulica records.

So the industry didn't do anything to release an official CD with the missing tracks + others. Sure, the "Live with Lou Reed" release is one of the best live recording ever done in Rock history. Than we come to the year 1993. It's May and the second "End Cole Ave - The first Night" was also released as a bootleg. Some tracks are on the PSAS.

And this is what I hate. The musicindustry does always do a re-release and another re-release and so on... with 2 to 4 bonustracks. If I buy them all, I will have 10 records with always the same tracks. What's next?

The "Quine Tapes" were released in a little bit worser quality than "Live with Lou Reed" and I'm sure all people who worked on these releases have known, that there exists much better tapes. We all can hear it on the samples, but will they really ever release it on an official record??? What do they really want? Look! The fans have to wait near "40!" years to (maybe) get the best versions of a Velvet-recording? And till now it's not sure if they ever come.

But I hope....like Waiting For My Man.....he's never early he's always late.

and we can find the others on the Quine Tapes or other cds...

A little bit frustrated, yes.... sorry. But it will be better.

I understand and share the frustration, but in fairness, ASFAIK in this case, it's not the record company holding up release but the owner of the tapes. If it was up to Sal and Bill Levenson, this would have been released a long time ago.

i have been listening to the tracks given to us by sal for the past week. every time he gives us new tracks, i relisten from start to finish.

i'm dying to hear all of this stuff.

I sure thought I'd been keeping up with this board, but I've missed this up until today.... egg on my face!

These recordings are incredible- I'm experiencing the same sense of discovery as when I first heard 1969 Live, as an impressionable youth. Thanks to Sal, and anyone else responsible for getting us THIS FAR.
