The old "dope fiend" in me just noticed Lou's nice pipes. Easy to find; no "searchin' for his mainline. 8-)

Hah I checked those out as well. You should have seen the one on his arm November 22 1974, Winterland SF, freshly abcessed on his pale white arm.

I have great b&w shots from his 1974 Chalmette, La. show. Up close. I was looking for tracks etc. but didn't see anything and I was as close as you can get; hanging at the barricade with a telephoto lens. He either had it healed by 11/8/74 or he had make-up covering it up. Here is a link to my Facebook page with a couple of the photos I took. enjoy https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 14ffea3300

I was thinking early solo, but what makes me second guess myself is, a) his outfit (never saw him pre-Phantom solo in a "normal" shirt like that), and b) his hair is really short - check the Loaded studio photos and he has the Jew-fro going pretty well. I dont recall seeing him in hair that short until he was the Phantom.

Am I making sense?

Great shots! Looks like you had a few pinned to your wall for a while. I fixed some of 'em up in iPhoto and they are lookin' pretty good!

I got out my copy of Flowers of Evil and the logo (Epiphone?) on the neck of his guitar in the color shots is the same as the one
in the black and photos also on the inside of the double cd. The black and white photos are the standard ones
of Lou at Max's taken by Leee Black Childers. Lou was in his formal black t-shirt in the b&w photos. The color
shots have a different shirt. However I am still inclined to think the color shots are from the Max's
period. Lou's hair seems the same length as the b&w Max's shows and of course the same guitar.
An idea I am entertaining is that these could be from rehearsals at Max's. I wonder if Bridget Polk
took any pictures then, she recorded the rehearsals I believe. Also the liner notes in F of E
disc mention that Lou was newly shorn of his Jewish fro pictured in the earlier shots of him
during the Loaded sessions.

I'll post these pics in the Jerry Nolan forum on Facebook. Lots of people in-the-know there!

Does anyone know how many dates they played in their Max's residency?
