Here are the three major pieces of Velvet Underground film footage. Extracted from DVD sources (lossless):

Re: What is this?
Does anyone by any chance have a lossless version of the symphony of sound audio from the Raro videotape version? I ask because the DVD audio is lossy, but the video version wouldn't be.
Alternatively if anyone has the videotape version Id be happy to borrow or buy it to enable me to extract the audio........

Re: What is this?
I'm pretty sure VHS is worse than DVD's audio. Have you considered this:

A SYMPHONY OF SOUND
World Youth Records WY 038, Japan, 2006
Side 1: SOS 0609 A Side 2: SOS 0609 B
Side 1: 1. Untitled Part 1 (23:42).
Side 2: 2. Untitled Part 2 (24:49).
Source: 1-2: The Velvet Underground And Nico film soundtrack, Factory, New York City NY, 1966.
Notes: 1000 copies only, all individually hand-numbered. World Youth Records, 5-9 Kitangasadori, Higashi-Ku, Osaka, Japan. 3 inserts: 1 12x12" page of stills from Andy Warhol's movie The Velvet Underground And Nico (aka A Symphony of Sound; 4 sided purple A4 paper typed article of The View from the Bandstand by Lou Reed.

Re: What is this?
I nearly bought that version, but my understanding from someone here a while back was that that version's audio wasn't as good as the Raro version.

With all due respect sir, I very very doubt that you feel the difference between lossy and lossless version of this high-end quality recording.nick257 wrote:Does anyone by any chance have a lossless version of the symphony of sound audio from the Raro videotape version? I actually have a digital transfer of it. I'll upload it later.nick257 wrote:I nearly bought that version, but my understanding from someone here a while back was that that version's audio wasn't as good as the Raro version.

Re: What is this?
The best version of Symphony of Sound I have heard is this, but unfortunatley the links no longer work:
http://thenunsareontheseawall.blogspot. ... sound.html
If you can track down a copy it's definitely worth the effort. I still have it (merged into one long file) but unfortunatley somewhere along the line I copied it into mp3 rather than flac. Still sounds pretty good to me though.
