The Royal Tenenbaums DVD has an interesting piece in the bonus features about the paintings. An artist in Mexico, Miguel Calderon, had heard a news story about five brothers who hid out in woods and stuff abducting couples and doing terrible things to the wives while forcing the husbands to watch. He then staged a photograph of his impressions of the crimes and hired a cheap portrait artist to paint it. Heh, just thought I'd share even through it has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. Royal Tenenbaums is probably one of my favorite movies though.
