Yes, that one's lovely. I really like the "toy soldiers" cover for White Light/White Heat too, almost better than the original :shock: The crash helmets cover I never could fathom, it's too far out there for me.

That's not quite the same though, is it? The Marilyn prints have a point to them, there's a sense of aesthetics behind them. When Warhol did that it was because he wanted to say something. Whereas certain reissues of the Banana album are a simply case of indifference/incompetence/lack of taste turning a great design into a not-so-great one. It's the difference between irreverence and disinterest.

I should add that I don't feel as strongly about this as Groovy though! And I agree with this:

The original was very beautiful; the re-issues were cheap and tasteless. When I say "cheap and tasteless" I'm referring to the texture and sheen of the paper used; the shade of yellow; the fact that you can't peel it; putting "The Velvet Underground and Nico" off to the side (how stupid).
