Even in 1965, all Warhol's films had sound. In summer 1966 he made Chelsea Girls, and then began the film segments that would make up 24 hour move (****) which again all had sound . Like the other 1966 films, I would guess that this one has sound recorded whilst filming. After summer 1966 he seemed to be working solely in colour, so perhaps this one is pre-Chelsea girls.
Yes,that's what I meant, with not a "soundtrack" itself. The idea of this movie as a pre-Chelsea Girls is a cool&brilliant.Checkin' out the length of the film, looks a bigger project than a background for the EPI show.Don't forget one of main points of Pop art is the improvisation which AW was so keen on,especially in making movies.

Edit to add this interesting site with and accurate date of each film,http://www.poorafilmy.com/people/87862-andy-warhol

Taxine, that site dates it as 28th June . I wonder how they got that accurate figure? And then they also date Moe Gets Tied Up as the same day.

Well, there's no mistake, this site is based on Callie Angell's eassys about factory films.Just take a look iaredatsun.

Callie Angell, The Films of Andy Warhol: Part II ( 1994)

"A number of other two-reel films of the Velvet Underground, also presumably shot for
projection during their performances, have been found in the collection, but are not yet
preserved; these include The Velvet Underground (in which Maureen Tucker is tied up with
ropes). The Velvet Underground Tarot Cards, and The Velvet Underground in Boston."

Have you got that Whitney Museum catalogue, Taxine? I've been hoping the research work that Callie Angell started before she died would be finished by someone else and we'd get the second part of the Warhol Film Catalogue Raissonné. Maybe The Films of Andy Warhol: Part II is worth tracking down?

Just came across this pretty cool review,a truly pop art practice, from Seattle Art Museum exhibition in November 2014.

The Velvet Underground Tarot Cards (Andy Warhol,1966).The Seattle Art Museum showed this 65-minute opus in 16 mm.Lots of snap-zooms,indecipherable conversation, and Andy?s attention-deficit camera be-bopping around the room. It?s a test of patience, but there?s something interesting going on, too ? you realize that the point of attending this party isn?t to engage in conversation or hear anything especially interesting, but just to be there and watch and take it all in.Which is what Warhol does. The members of the VU,including Nico, are in it.
