I bought this Riot Squad Toy Soldier ep recently. Its certainly a curiosity & a talking point for various reasons. As mentioned they cover I'm Waiting For My Man... but on another track 'Toy Soldier' the lyrics steal wholesale from Venus in Furs. It replaces the dark sinister moodiness of the VU with a sort of cheeky english Anthony Newley end-of-the-pier vibe though. Of interest anyway.

I love the fact that for Bowie, Anthony Newley and The Velvet Underground had an equivalence as cultural influences in his showbizz journey.

Iaredatsun....is yr sig line from the Simple Minds song Changeling? I love the Reel to Real a cacophony album.

I love Bowie but he doesn't really rock out, truly rock, like prime VU or Iggy. He is too theatrical for that.
