STOP POSTING AT DIMEADOZEN!
Stop posting at Dimeadozen, they're not accepting new members and haven't been for a while. There's another good bootleg file-sharing Torrent site:
Bootcity.org
Every single time I try to join Dimeadozen, it says they're not accepting any new members. Keeping everything on one exclusive little network defeats the purpose of sharing.
You can also post at:
The Pirate Bay
ISO Hunt
and there's more--post anywhere just not at Dimeadozen! At least not until they start accepting more members.
(I have nothing against Dimeadozen--I'm sure they have a good reason for not taking members, but in the meantime, we should all be posting at other sites. I myself am just getting into Bit Torrent, but I've been sharing all my VU over the file-sharing network in my signature for months. I plan to torrent everything as well, soon.)

Only downside is that the band are way down in the mix and it shows obn tracks like 'Afterhours'. Looks like a jimjim home-made remix is needed!Velvet Underground

You can feel the excitement as the audience anticipates each new song in the setlist.
IMHO, the Velvets were the best rock 'n' roll band ever. Robert Quine told me that
was his opinion as well.

Re: STOP POSTING AT DIMEADOZEN!
Well, thanks for the info on the other sites, but I am going to keep posting to DaD. Usually, more than 200 people snatch the torrents I put up there. Let one of those 200 people repost it elsewhere. I like DaD.Candy Velvet wrote:Stop posting at Dimeadozen, they're not accepting new members and haven't been for a while. There's another good bootleg file-sharing Torrent site:

However, when DaD bans a torrent of mine, I throw it up on Demonoid.
The purpose of sharing is to give other people something you have - at no cost. Even though Dime may be a little exclusive (for good reason I think), their system and Mods are very good at weeding out the crap (hello, PirateBay). Sometimes they become a bit...hardcore...but overall they do a great job.
Re: STOP POSTING AT DIMEADOZEN!
Everyone here knows that I have been on a Lou torrent rampage over the last few months. Dime has a lot of things going for it. Personally, I HATE PirateBay. People there jump off as soon as they reach 100%, which I find incredibly rude and irritating. On Dime, people are still hosting torrents I posted over a month ago. Dime is a "community," especially in the different genres. The VU/Lou community is very strong on Dime.AerosmithRocks wrote:The purpose of sharing is to give other people something you have - at no cost. Sorry if you can't get a membership there, but that is the place I donate $ to. The reason they keep membership low is so the servers dont need constant upgrades. Even though I don't post on other hosts much, I am willing to say that I know exactly what sharing is all about. If other fans wanna load the torrents on other sites, more power to 'em!
Oh, and I just finished posting all of my Sally Cant Dance Tour recordings. Here comes '75, everyone!

Can this site become a Bit Torrent tracker?

Re: STOP POSTING AT DIMEADOZEN!
So what if everyone on The Pirate Bay leeches? All that matters is that if you posted on The Pirate Bay, EVERYONE would be able to get it--leeches and seeders. The leeches? Just ignore them. Also, what's stopping you from posting on more than one Bit Torrent site? (Once I get my burner and everything backed up, I'm gonna torrent the hell out of my collection--right now I don't wanna risk leaving my computer on 24/7 to seed enough--I'm down to my last few gigs!)mg196 wrote:Dime has a lot of things going for it. I totally agree with you about the community thing, though. I, myself, am part of two bootleg communities (see my signature). I'm currently sharing 25 gigs of music (13 gigs of which are VU) on it.
(Right now I would really love to acquire Screen Test: Falling In Love With the Falling Spikes, by the way

Re: STOP POSTING AT DIMEADOZEN!
Well, I guess nothing is "stopping" me, but I donate to Dime and I get faster speeds if I just do one site at a time.Candy Velvet wrote: Also, what's stopping you from posting on more than one Bit Torrent site?

I also send some stuff to Demonoid. I like that site's layout a lot.

For those interested in joining Dimeadozen, they do accept new members.
It is just capped at 93000 members, dormant members are being deleted constantly.
Follow the account>signup link and refresh the page until you get the sign-up page. Might take 2 time times might take 100.
Cheers,
Pete
