lurid, do you know Rosie Lee? How did that happen? I thought nobody knew Rosie Lee. All I know about her is: 1) She knows a lot about technology 2) She knows really obscure data about Lou 3) She's sharing great music with us 4) She makes me sweat each time she posts a request.
But, after all that, I don't know Rosie Lee.

no I dont think I know rosie - I thought I did but realise now it's not the person i was thinking of. what went wrong with track 7? maybe she's just teasing everyone. maybe a flaw in the digits somewhere? maybe it would be more fruitful to ask why rosie let it come out like that and didn't fix it. As to whether there's an time error on Olivier's site - I would always believe what's on his site unless presented with solid evidence to the contrary...
which track are we waiting for now? what's the next "task"?

Hi all
I downloaded the MP4 codec for DBPoweramp but nothing has changed. Is there anything I should have done with it before I ran DB Poweramp to see if it worked? Theres no MP4 in the listing of files it can convert and when I right click on Rosie's files no 'convert to' option.
Help please!

I don't know her/him but I would just like to thank Rosie Lee UK for making these tracks available.
I agree with Lurid; it's a shame about track 7 (which is definitely an extract from track 6 - I've done a wave analysis) ... perhaps that was the consequence of not figuring out the answer to her/his demands? The completests among us (me included) will probably never be happy in our quest to hear anything and everything VU-related but we cannot say we are ungrateful for all that has been made available so far.
Once again, a sincere thanks to Rosie Lee UK!

If you downlaod http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central ... r%20Codecs then right click on the MP4 it should give you the option of converting. Worked a treat for me.
Does anybody know how these tracks compare in quality to the crappy 'Warhol Museum' boot? I know they're better, but are they a lot better? Also, in view of the glitch in track 7 in Rosie's , is there any chance somebody could rip the track 7 portion from the 'Musuem' boot and post it here?
Ooops forgot to log in - it's Kill Mick

Keep the faith
jimjim, download the WinAmp plugin (on page one of this thread) and install it.
Then open WinAmp and go to Preferences, Plug-ins, Output, and chose the "DiskWriter plugin", then WinAmp makes a 16 bit 44.1kHz wav file of anything you play with WinAmp.
Just remember to change back to waveOUT after you finished, because if you don't, there will be no sound the next time you play a song in Winamp

Image you are at the Warhol Museum Exhibition. They are going to public airplay the tapes. You have a video camera in your hands. Then you swich the recorder button on to capture the sound you ear in the hall.
There are "noises" from the "recorder" & friends.
Now you transfer this video tape sound into CD, and you got it. The result: a crappy sound but till now the only way we have had to figure it out how those recordings sounded.

re: missing track 7
I spent many hours filtering the 'crappy warhol museum boot' to make it more listenable (but still bad). I also split it into individual tracks.
The old track 4 (Rosie's track 7) is now available for download as a high bit-rate MP3 - see separate thread by Ferges. It's my contribution to the grand Rosie Lee enterprise. It will sound weird next to the pristine Rosie tracks, but will fill the gap at least.
Plus it's giving something back to She Who We Do Not Know, too, if she hasn't got it, as a sign of our appreciation.
