As far as I have been able to find out:
Nico's last time with the band was May, 1967
John left the band in September, 1968
Lou left the band in August, 1970
Sterling left the band in August, 1971
But I can't find out when Maureen's last dates with the band were. It seems it must have been sometime after the 1971 UK/Netherlands tour.
Does anyone have a date?
When did Maureen Tucker leave
Re: When did Maureen Tucker leave
End of 1971 or early 1972 (can't get more specific than that), when Sesnick sent Walter, Willie and Maureen back home to the States after the UK/Dutch tour and Doug stayed in the UK to tour once more and finally record Squeeze.tarbaby2 wrote:But I can't find out when Maureen's last dates with the band were. I think Mo's last actual performance with the band will have been the last date of the UK/Netherlands tour - exactly when that was will be on Olivier's site. When she actually left is less clear, but I guess she and the others flew back to the States shortly after the tour ended.
Interestingly, Doug has since claimed that he wanted to fly Mo back over to the UK to play on 'Squeeze' but Sesnick blocked it - who knows how things might have turned out if she had returned?

Keep the faith
True, but don't forget Maureen was learning to play the "regular" drum kit by early 1970 and played sitting down on the 1971 shows (witness Final VU), so her later style is much different from the "classic" 1966-1969 period, even if it is still clearly, minimalistically Maureen.tarbaby2 wrote:Well, the sound would have been different, that's for sure. She has a style all her own. I love her drumming. Just listen to the difference in how the band sounds when she plays and then go listen to the stuff from Max's Kansas City with Billy Yule playing.
