That won't be the mono version surely?

It's not. It's a stereo re-issue. And with all due respect, I think that everyone should have the opportunity to hear an excellently xferred rip of the mono. So, please make it public. If the record company refuses to meet the demands of its true fans by releasing the music in its best form, screw them.

Yeah, verily and huzzah! So instead of talking about it let's return to the original request of this post and it may actually happen.feelingfresh wrote:It's not. It's a stereo re-issue. Sorry for making the wrong suggestion. For some unknown reason the "mono" in the title went unrecognized by me...

Re: ISO Excellently Xferrred WL/WH Mono vinyl rip
I'm interested in some xcellently xferred transfers of rare high quality recordings such as those found on "Sweet Sister Ray," "The Murder Mystery" (the 1969 La Cave Sister Ray & I'm Waiting for the Man), and "A Symphony of Sound" (the old one, which contains the beautiful 3/15/69 performance -- that could definitely use a quality upgrade). I own copies of all these albums, by the way.

Re: ISO Excellently Xferrred WL/WH Mono vinyl rip
I've got well-transferred versions of most official VU vinyl and am always on the look out for them. WLWH is a special interest for me BUT I have yet to find a copy of it in mono that I know to be transferred on high end equipment.
I'm not sure how excellently transferred the version is on Ultimate Mono & Acetates is.
I don't know what the existence of this thread means but it holds a certain intrigue.

Re: ISO Excellently Xferrred WL/WH Mono vinyl rip
I'd heard years and years of propaganda that mono WL/WH was unnecessary, but since I've heard it (via Ultimate Mono ...), I think it's absolutely essential. The Gift, in particular, needs to be heard in mono - the music and story work together, rather than against each other, as on the stereo version. Sister Ray also sounds awesome.
The rip on that box set is OK, but I'm sure it could be done better.
