Cale's look is so cool a mix between bohemiam and a crazy avantgard musician.

Too right what a haircut and amazing musical chops as well! This was one of Cales best looks, one of the few people to out cool Lou - mmmm maybe thats the real reason for him to be thrown out of the band.
Looking forward to hearing the audio Bob, thanks to your effort on this one.

No, I think Lou fired John because John (regretfully) changed his haircut to this ....

nice pic though, the last interview I saw with John he had green streaks in it - that wasn't a great look either.

Well, I have been working on this for nearly 30 YEARS now and there is finally a glimmer of hope... I will certainly keep all posted!

There is a tape of the Velvets playing at the RI School of Design in 1967. I have heard it, though that was approximately 30 years ago. The owner of the tape, an acquaintance of mine, has also been missing for approximately 30 years. I have been trying to find him in vain. He used to tape concerts that were held in the Providence area and would not let me copy it. It was on a 7" tape reel. He got into some trouble with some druggies and vanished one day. No one ever found out where he and his wife went. I remember the tape well, it was from the WL/WH period and was very clear with a great Sister Ray.
