I´ve got today some first hand information about the film:
The film is color and has sound that cuts in and out quite a bit (technical problem on Warhol's end).
Warhol filmed before, during and after the gig and condensed it to the single reel with a lot of in camera editing. There's a lot footage of the Velvets but there's also quite a bit of footage of the crowd, overhead projectors and disco balls.
No VU song is ever heard in its entirety because of Warhol's in-camera editing. Two of the songs included (among others) are: Heroin and Run Run Run.

Finally some more Velvets video; I can't wait. Thanks. Oh if only the tv footage from Cleveland would show up.
I've gotten a dvd or 2 of Upbeat footage hoping to find the Velvets, but
no luck. I've pressed my source for more information of where
they got this footage and they said from someone who worked
on the program. They said there may be more and they would
contact me. I have not heard from them. I will send them an email.
Nice bit with Otis Redding and Mitch Ryder doing Knock on Wood
live. I put this on my facebook wall.
Face and The Velvet Underground in Boston: Two Premieres in Memory of Callie Angell at MOMA NY Premiere.
The Velvet Underground in Boston (1967, USA, 33 min.), which Warhol shot during a concert at the Boston Tea Party, features a variety of filmmaking techniques?sudden in-and-out zooms, sweeping panning shots, in-camera edits that create single frame images and bursts of light like paparazzi flash bulbs going off?that mirror the kinesthetic experience of the Exploding Plastic Inevitable, with its strobe lights, whip dancers, colorful slide shows, multi-screen projections, liberal use of amphetamines, and overpowering sound of The Velvet Underground.
