HSCN lyric - solved

Post by iaredatsun »

I think I finally solved the riddle of Here She Comes Now*. Maybe my favourite VU song/recording.

'Ohh, it looks so good, ohh, she's made out of wood. Just look and see....'

The narrator is waiting for a (sailing) boat.

Unless the song is supposed to be a sexual connotation!

Is this one of the songs in Lou's first book of lyrics? If so is it one of the ones he comments on a the bottom of the page?

I think it's about a sexually unresponsive woman. Hence "oh, if she ever comes now now...", and also being "made out of wood" - ie, rather stiff and static.

I always thought so too but the first line always nagged me:

Ohh, it looks so good...

What can be both an it and a she and wooden? A boat.

glad I'm not the only one...

...of course good lyrics can often be read in more than one way.

There is a vernacular in BDSM circles regarding wooden women.

I find and easy relation "on BDSM work",betwen the Warhol Vinyl film and WL&WH albun, the whole concept of both are the shocking borders about "sex&drugs".
Meanwhile on Vinyl film the submision role is taken by "Gerald,a male",and on this song the "wooden woman" this role is featured by a female.....might be a relecture on this song about the subject by Lou...it would be interesting to know when the song was written .

..... just a CRAZY theory !!!
