High-Definition Vinyl 6-LP Box Set:
The Velvet Underground: The Quine Tapes
from the Sundazed website...
Re: from the Sundazed website...
You're kidding! Not that I'll probably be able to get it for a while, but does it mean that the Bootleg series isn't as dead as we thought?!

Re: from the Sundazed website...
Sundazed did a great job of the VU singles set. A joy to behold with good attention to detail. However, I was underwhelmed by the whole Quine tapes set and having them on high definition vinyl would not do anything much for me.dfmb wrote:Upcoming Releases

What I'd like to see is good version of White Light White Heat, with the correct vinyl weight, label printing and the USA 1960's correct layered paper and cardboard construction method used in the sleeve. I think Sundazed would care enough to do that properly.

I know I'm gonna sound like an idiot, but I've been on their site for 30 minutes and can't find this. Can you post a link? thanks
Re: from the Sundazed website...
its on their homepage on the right hand side under "upcoming releases". hmm i'm excited for sure, hopefully some new tracks sneak onto the vinyl release.
Re: from the Sundazed website...
If you want 'new tracks' / out-takes get yourself a copy of 'Dispatches from the Dream Factory' boot cd boxset as it mopped up (poss all?) the Quine out-takes not on the official release. See Oliviers details below on the situation..tikky wrote:its on their homepage on the right hand side under "upcoming releases". hmm i'm excited for sure, hopefully some new tracks sneak onto the vinyl release.
I do find it strange that they should want to release a 6LP box set of this set, every diehard fan will have bought the 3CD box - but how many will splash the cash for it again on vinyl (and yes i'm a vinyl lover) can't be a great number unless its an amazing package with lots of unseen photographs etc.
Now a boxset of the Professor tapes that would be a much more viable release IMHO. Hum ho...

Maybe this why a request was posted here for information regarding the photographer
of the VU at the Matrix.

Hopefully this is a door opening for future releases...
Yes, I will buy this again on vinyl.

Re: from the Sundazed website...
This is ridiculously exciting. I only reluctantly bought it on CD as I've not owned a CD player for years. I'll gladly throw down for an LP box.
Re: from the Sundazed website...
yes, this seems rather exciting along with the "professor tapes" indeed but the "cerise sur le gateau" (as we're saying in french)
would be some good news about the release of the Matrix tapes, wouldn't it?
