Did anyone notice that the original photographer is selling prints of the Matrix photos I mentioned in a previous post? At $200 I dont see any takers, but they are nice photos.....

yup, He is going to keep making them too. They are not the sharpest pictures, but considering the fact that he was there, AND snapped the two photos is pretty cool. I grateful for it :) . I guess he deserves to keep punching them out.

They do fit together, so if you want a huge photographic homage to VU in a frame on your wall, It?s worth it. My only complaint is the photos are pretty blurry with marks and scuffs all over, but then again, so are the bootlegs we listen to over and over :P

Well I have these 2 original photos and i wouldn't say they are blurry/out of focus at all. They do indeed join together (messing about in photoshop) and although they do have a few marks apparent on the prints its nothing that detracts from the image overall.

I also have "original" prints but they are only 6" x 4". I agree with the comments by Bleach.....

Ahhh that would make more sense! Mine are Huge 14x13 each side, thus they would appear more blurry than the 6x4. They do look really good on the wall, and I managed to fit them together in one frame, (no photoshop)

BlueTyson, Just send him an ebay question, and he will repost the auction for you

here is the old auction.

I just had an email reply from the photographer via Ebay asking if he shot any more at the Matrix sadly these are the only 2 he can find. I bet he has lost all the original negatives and these are copies of prints he made at the time (1969)...

As far as $200 per print, I don't see that as too outrageous. Ask any photographer for a good print from the negatives, especially a historic image, and you are likely to pay $150+.

Bleach, care to comment?!

I think $200 for the 2 prints is very reasonable..he hasn't produced a cheaper litho version which would devalue the original photo angle..
