Re: 3rd Album Deluxe - Bill Levenson drops a hint?
Good and rather unexpected news regarding the Matrix tapes! Let's hope the mixing is nice and wide and none of Lou's stage patter is removed. At the least I think we can count live versions of the tracks on the LP making an appearance. I'm Set Free, Some Kind Of Love, After Hours, etc. Still hope we ...

Yes, per Bill Levenson the session reels for the 3rd LP do exist. No unreleased songs but lots of alternate versions.iaredatsun wrote:It's hard to see what they can do with this. We have versions of 3rd that are probably hard to improve on mastering-wise.
Are there outtakes?

Re: Future 45th Anniversary Super Deluxe Editions?
A What Goes On outtake or alt mix would be nice - I'm just imagining what the guitar solo would sound like without all that overdubbing. Exactly. I've long craved alternate mixes with only one lead guitar track. Would be interesting to hear it this way. Beginning To See The Light with a cold ending ...

Re: Future 45th Anniversary Super Deluxe Editions?
The project for a Super Deluxe 3rd Album is on his way! Still on the early stages but progressing :D I am sure our "friends" at Universal will not let us down and will include some nice-nice Live 1969 recordings to complete the outstanding work (imo) they have done with the 45Th Super Deluxe ...

Re: WHITE LIGHT / WHITE HEAT DELUXE 45th ANNIVERSARY EDITION
You can preview the Mr. Rain(s) on iTunes. Only listened on my laptop but seem to have a different feel. More urgent, more intense, perhaps? Sounded promising. Forget about Mr. Rain....how is the "alternate take" of I Heard Her Call My Name? Is it really an alternate take or just an alternate mix?

Re: WHITE LIGHT / WHITE HEAT DELUXE 45th ANNIVERSARY EDITION
Chris, we know that Reed remixed the version of IHHCMN that was released but I don't remember it being said that he mixed the whole LP. Might make sense of the fact that Cale's bass is so far down in the mix, though. I imagine it was Gary Kellgren's hands on the faders but surely Lou was telling ...

Re: WHITE LIGHT / WHITE HEAT DELUXE 45th ANNIVERSARY EDITION
Agreed. There is no bottom end at all on WL/WH and the drums sound like cardboard. Love the album but it was very shittily recorded IMO. The demo of GIFIL that appears on Another View has lots of punch, a bottom end, better sounding drums, and a totally different guitar sound. Sure I guess some of ...
