Re: Tea Party Tapes? Warhol reel? Any news?

Personally I'd also like to see a lot of stuff that's only appeared unofficially be given a proper release. I know we've heard most if not all of it before but things like the recent upgrade of Sweet Sister Ray, the complete unedited Valleydale etc., deserve an official release in my opinion.

Re: Sunday Morning

Just out of interest, what's your issue with the celeste? I've always thought it a pretty integral part of the song and would miss it if it wasn't there - unlike say the godawful strings and flute on the Chelsea Girl tracks.

Re: Sunday Morning

Live versions maybe, but not a studio version as far as I'm aware.

Re: Falling Spikes / Fugs

Great research. It could have simply panned out like this: August 11 - the Falling Spikes and the Fugs play separately August 19 - they play together as the Transcendental Simulatic Orchestra/Cineola Transcendental Orchestra (maybe they used both names or there was just some confusion? There ...

Re: Anthology of Lou’s Work for Pickwick Records - Light In The Attic

Sorry, I'm struggling to understand this post? ABX? "escape the SHF"? SHF = Steve Hoffmann Forum; ABX: scientific method of distinguishing between two sensory stimuli -here listening- of two samples without of course the subject knowing which one is presented. In audio, therefore listening will be ...

Re: Anthology of Lou’s Work for Pickwick Records - Light In The Attic

It's very unlikely. I'm just bringing back objectivist elements that can only escape the SHF which is the opposite because it is a commercial site. In ABX, listeners (journalists in electronics publications) prefer low level mp3 to SACD, so... Sorry, I'm struggling to understand this post? ABX ...

Mark wrote: 21 Mar 2024 17:34The conversation with Cale does make it clear that the recordings were made over two nights - the 3rd file being from the first, and then the 4th being recorded before the show on the second night.
So do we think that the 1st file is the show on the second night?

Re: Sound excerpts from interview with John Cale, 1966 September

Many thanks for sharing this, very cool.

It's also now clear that this, and not the gig in Morgantown, is the source for the tracks Ms Rayon has been sharing (which to be fair is what sm7609 said at the time).

Re: Little Sister live

I couldn’t find the Unterberger description of the event. Were there any more songs recorded - aside from the two we have? Unterberger doesn't say much (in my edition anyway), lists it as the University of West Virginia, Wheeling, WV. No mention of Morgantown but I assume it's the same place? The o ...
