No. We're talking about Velvet Underground 1966.

The Nothing Songs version of Move Back has the same edit that's on the Symphony of Sound Move Back. And on the LP version of Velvet Underground 1966 Melody Laughter is cut and faded out by two whole minutes.
ok. thanks. I see.

Thanks a lot! I haven't compared it to Move Back! yet, but at first listen it sounds like the tape is running slow (at least one semitone), also Lou's voice during the intros sounds slow... is it only me?

No, me too...

I've followed the advice here for playing the FLAC files with VLC:

Adjusting playback speed with precision is just a matter of going to the Preferences (selecting "all"), finding "Playback speed" in the first menu "Inputs / Codeks" and setting it to 1.1, save, and then start the movie. Sounds better to my ears!

is it possible that the "master tape" for this show runs slow? I remember getting the whole show on 2 C60 cassettes back in 1984. For years I was convinced it sounded too slow, but back then there was no easy way to speed cassettes up. I eventually found someone who could do it, and it then fitted onto a C90, and sounded far better. (From memory, this is the "barking dog" version of this tape mentioned on Olivier's site)

just a thought

I've sped up the tracks to 109.6% which sounds just about right to my ears, and also removed a small amount of hiss. I could upload the tracks somewhere if there's interest?
