hi Rick all I can say is that you will certainly not be disappointed when you finally get the book. I've only got up to mid-1967 and I'm so impressed by the breadth/depth of the material. Mr Unterburger has interviewed people I didn't even know existed, but who have very pertinent stories to tell. I cant recall any other book which covers the Pickwick era (for example) in anywhere near so much detail.

I can see that my copy is going to be a very well-read book.

PS was it in 1976 that Lou played in Baton Rouge? I'm sure I have an 8" x 10" contact sheet of photos of him on stage at that show. (Or was it 1978, I cant remember)

I had left a message over the weekend and was nice to get a personal call back. Spoke to the guy about all us VU lovers out here and he seemed pretty impressed; they expect big numbers due to the quality & thoroughness 0f the book. He asked where I lived and said he hoped the book promotion tour could get closer to my Southern US location than currently scheduled. I said that would be nice because New Orleans is pretty screwed as far as anything Lou/VU/Warhol related. Lou has been here only once and to Baton Rouge only once. Peace Rick :D

I saw Lou in Baton Rouge for the Street Hassle Tour, 07-04-78
BATON ROUGE, LA.
NO

I have a roll of b&w shots from that show at The Kingfish. I also saw him in St Bernard, (New Orleans)08-11-74
ST. BERNARD CIVIC AUDITORIUM, CHALMETTE, LA.
YES
70
B+
Setlist:
Intro - Sweet Jane - Sweet Jane/Vicious (Lou sings Vicious over the Sweet Jane riff) - Vicious - Ride Sally Ride - Heroin - Kill Your Sons - New York Stars - Animal Language - Sally Can't Dance - Walk On The Wild Side - White Light/White Heat - New York Telephone Conversation/ Goodnight Ladies - Rock And Roll (encore)
Here is a link to a couple my shots online from both shows and a shot of me & Lou in Amsterdam 1993. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/symphonyo ... 3/pic/list
I used to take photos at concerts back in the 70's when a couple camera bags and a little bullshit could get you in front the baracades to shoot photos. I had a roll of Ektachrome color slide film from the 1974 show and it is the only time that the processor screwed up the processing and my beautiful color shots are all washed out! My shots are comparable to the b&w shots from the same show. There was a procedure back then called cibachrome where you could make amazing color prints direct from slides so concert slides looked exactly like stage shots with concert lighting. No crappy flash destroyed color prints. Of all the rolls to get messed up!  Oh well.

Well, the link I put up with my photos is password protected unless you belong to that Yahoo Group, so then I checked faq and searched these forums for how to add images to my post, because I know I saw that info recently, but, no luck. I can't find the post and it wasn't too long ago. If anybody can explain to me how to add images to my post, I will redo it. I have the BBcode on, img on, but how do I step by step upload an image. Thanks

Like so: [ img ]http://home.hetnet.nl/~macplurkis/aw/ms ... enwigt.gif[ /img ], yielding this result:

Remove the spaces within the square brackets, I put them there to fool the parser. You have to have your image up on some web server first, of course, you cannot upload to the message board, just point to items already up somewhere (The post you refer to, btw, is here: http://www.velvetforum.com/viewtopic.ph ... bit#p16532).

Got mine day-before-yesterday and my brain is still hurting from all the information it is trying to assimilate

All in all an impressive body of work, even if the post-Lou and 1993 reunion phases are discussed in less detail, but then, we get all the detail we want in the "main" body of work! Good to see the solo activities woven through the main V.U. story. I knew of course what John was doing when re. his New York in the Sixties parallel experiments, but it's good to see this side-to-side with his "official" V.U. activities.

I think you're trying to link to the URL of the page that contains the photo rather than the photo itself. You need to right click on the photo and (on Firefox) click 'copy image location', or (on IE) click 'properties' and then copy the image URL that comes up.
