I saw that as well and wondered what he meant. I think that somewhere else he implied that the "Gymnasium" SR is the only extant recording with JC....

BTW I went into Amazon uk last night and they said the book is in stock - mine should be with me tomorrow or Friday. A lot of very very interesting stuff by the looks of it!

He seems to make a distinction between recordings that are or are not 'listenable' - eg, in the entry about the Gymnasium recording:

well Amazon came good and the book arrived this morning - it's very impressive. Obviously not read it yet - only a brief skim through it. Quite a few pics I've not seen before, and at least one new snippet of info on just about every page. It's a long time since I've been able to say that about a VU book!

I got so tired of dealing with Amazon here in the US. They still say it is unavailable and an Indian sounding gent named "Pete" (I bet his name is Pete ) says the customer service company line; even though I tell him I know someone with one in hand and the author is on tour in the US. I cancelled my preorder, went to Amazon UK and ordered it today; should be to me within 1 week! I can't wait. Rick

I got a call from Jawbone Press, the publisher today; he told me that he is sorry for the problem, they have been trying to correct the amazon US problem but that they should be at Amazon US by end of the week. I had left a message over the weekend and was nice to get a personal call back. Spoke to the guy about all us VU lovers out here and he seemed pretty impressed; they expect big numbers due to the quality & thoroughness 0f the book. He asked where I lived and said he hoped the book promotion tour could get closer to my Southern US location than currently scheduled. I said that would be nice because New Orleans is pretty screwed as far as anything Lou/VU/Warhol related. Lou has been here only once and to Baton Rouge only once. Peace Rick
