The two were good at what they wanted, Cale experiencing, and Yule with their more conventional melodies but good

I am a Yule fan as much as a Cale fan, and I'd say neither is "more important" than the other, they're just different and bring to the fore other aspects of the band.
I could not have said it better myself. Yule was quite a good bass player... very underrated. And Cale, well how can you NOT love him? A genius.

All Yule fans, (and hopefully Willie Alexander fans as well!) there is a 4 CD BOX SET from our friends in Japan up on eBay now. Pretty cool package, pretty dismal performances as I recall the tapes were.

You can still get it from Captain Trip themselves or through any decent record shop, for that matter. I did, and for less than the asking price here, too. (I live in continental Europe.)
