Hmmmm..finally logged in but it's saying I need a new bit torrent tracker. Funny, the one I'm downloading from dimeadozen seems to work. Stuck at 0%...

Yep, demonoid doesn't work with older bittorrent downloader thingies, while dime does, you just need to upgrade, it takes a couple of minutes.jimjim wrote:Hmmmm..finally logged in but it's saying I need a new bit torrent tracker. Got tne new BT Client...wow...much better looking and easy on the eye. The only downside is that it seems that only one torrent can download at any given time. Or is it just that I'm still waiting to download these acatate torrents? If it's the former, mine should be starting anytime now as the non-VU one has just finished!
Is there anyway I can check to see how they are going? (Sorry I should said that I'm at work and this is running at home).

Sean,
I use the bittorrent client and you can run up to three torrents simultaneously - when you attempt to run a new torrent it puts it in the list with a little clock face next to it; right click on the clock and click download now; it'll ask whether you want to stop the last running torrent.
If you want to see the peer list: move your cursor until it is over the download speed indicator; right click and it'll bring up a short menu from which you can pick the list.

I think thats my fault - demonoid shortens the filenames of the torrent, cutting off 1 2 and 3 at the end. It's probably best to rename the torrent files when you download them by right clicking and choosing 'save as'.
As for checking how it's going when you're at work, I don't know a way. Most peers I'm connected to have around 90% on CD 1, 63% on CD 2 and 93% on CD 3. Shouldn't be too long before there's more than one seed, which is when your download speed should really pick up.

Again with the bittorrent client - it asks where you want to save it and allows you to create a new folder, so you could do something like My documents>My Torrents>Ultimate Acetates in which you create a file for each download.: disk 1, disk 2, disk 3.
I tend to find demonoid a bit slow even when there's a whole load of peers, but this is an inflexible free firewall issue more than anything else I think.
The peer list I mentioned above will show you how many peers you are linked to and the speed of both uploads and downloads.
