Maybe this is only of regional interest, but I am in Rhode Island and I covet the West Yarmouth poster. The idea of the EPI playing July 4th on Cape Cod (a summer resort) blows my mind. The Kennedy family compound was/is just a few miles away.

3 things on these items, first the stickers promoting the 3rd lp were adhered to the backs of the amplifiers the VU had
when I saw them at the Family Dog. The stage was not against the wall, it was there was plenty of room to walk
behind including a conession stand (the one I watched Lou go to and buy a softdrink). After the VU's
first set I went to the back of the speaker amp touched my nail to the sticker, thinking in a second
or two it would be mine. I thought better of the deal, stealing is stealing and I could get thrown out.
Secondly I remember my copy of the Unicorn poster differently, but it could be identical. I arrived
in Boston late afternoon June 7 and scored a place at a campus dormitory, 3rd floor to stay
for a few days. There was a campus break and no one was using it. It was large. I decided to
stay low before going on a VU hunt. The next day June 8, 4 blocks away I found the Unicorn.
Just missed them. A straight guy in his late 40's early 50's who seemed to own the place
let me in. I saw a bunch of posters and bought one with white print and gold background for 2.00.
I asked him if the VU were a bunch of heavy druggies, he said no they were just winos.
My question was symptomatic of the times and the VU myth, we had no forum then.
Thirdly, the VU did Goodnight Ladies when they ended their show at the Family Dog.
I remember Lou and Doug throwing kisses to the audience as they left. From my
view point there was no hostility or hippies banging tambourines. I sat very very close
to the low 2 foot stage.

Wow. Thanks for that memory. I can only imagine being present at a Velvets show back in the day. Even Lou buying a coke is interesting to me. Great memory.
