Awesome EPI pix I guess are from "RISD in Providence 1967" show, but hardly recall Sterl's with his own shadow, beautiful indeed !!

Cale looks cool-demonic, in a fun way, there. Is he smiling mischievously or a trick of the light? I also like that Cale has perfected his throwing-the-shadow-of-a-guitarist-whilst-playing-a-viola trick in this shot. Maybe that's why he's smiling impishly!

Put together the small pictures from the backside of the "Popsmuk 1971/72" book (of which I posted the pages with VU content in a seperate topic).
Nico/Reed/Tucker pictures by Gijsbert Hanekroot, Cale picture by CBS (all made 1971/72).

Hope you like it.

PS: Moe Tuckers picture taken around the Top-pop performance of The Velveteen Underground in 1971.October (when they also received an "Edison Award" for Loaded!). Can you imagine The VU in a sort of "Top of the Pops"? Wondering if any footage from that performance is available / floating around on the web somewhere.

^^^ Yes Taxine its a great image - it has been suggested that it was taken by Jonathan Richman but i'm not sure. A rare image that has only surfaced in the last few years - Sterling had a copy in his collection.

Andy Warhol and Gang,1965.

?These shots were taken at a raucous romp during a trip Andy Warhol and his Factory pals took to Paris for his second solo exhibition there. They posed in bed and in the bathroom of the Hôtel Bourgogne, next door to my Glamour office. The whole crew showed up pretty regularly in Paris in the mid-to-late 1960s. Andy, who is not wearing his trademark platinum wig in this photo, was not well known in France then, but his fame was growing. He was always looking for rich clients who wanted their portraits done. Andy, Edie Sedgwick and the rest of his entourage spent every night at nightclubs, including Le Sept, Castel?s and Regine?s with a cast of French aristos, models, handsome gigolos and essentially anyone good-looking enough to get in the front doors.?

Edie Sedgwick, Gerard Malanga, Chuck Wein and Andy Warhol, photographed by Mary Russell,1965.

Beautiful portrait from Andy's and the gang trip to Paris.A sorta of joy and playful scenes with the silver kids on the bed, don't miss Andy's and Gerald's art with the banana&magazin...!!

I bought an "original" few years ago at Ebay. The seller had no idea who took the picture. Had been hanging on his wall for along time. I have no doubt that what I have is a vintage printing. I sent it to Universal for the 3rd Deluxe
but was not used. For some reason the one reproduced in the Matrix has in the bottom left corner a "blue" reflection not in my original. I will ask

Did not know Sterl had one (Jeff Gold collection??)

When I got it did investigate trying to know where the picture was taken and it seems The Electric Factory June 1969 is the most possible location. It is very unual to see Doug playing the Organ (from top of my head just one other shoot is availbe, the outdoor gig reproduced on Yule Pictures Mercurí´s Book )

EDIT:

I have checked my files, and seems that the picture used in the Matrix 4 CD is the one I first sent to Universal just to tell them I had it. It has the blue dash... not sure now if then later I forgot to sent the Hi-Res copy I did ... anyway,
